It’s funny how when I was little I would go through my Mother and Grandmother’s clothes and try them on. I distinctly remember pulling out a full length, long sleeved, crushed velvet maxi dress and think, my god who would ever wear this?
Alas, there is something called the evolution of fashion…which sometimes doesn’t evolve, but goes back to old trends.
Today’s topic. Crushed Velvet.
I am seeing it everywhere! I particularly noticed the vast amounts of people wearing it at this years Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in sydney. My favourite would have to be the leggings:
You can get them at most clothes stores such as General Pants. Although I haven’t yet invested in a pair, definitely on my list of things to buy on paycheque day!
If you are like me and love going out on thursday nights, you might want to invest in a crushed velvet dress. It’s too cold to be going out in skimpy outfit girls, be smart!
I got this dress from Tokito in Myer, but there are similar ones to it around everywhere.
I like this because it’s three quarter sleeves, so it give you a bit of air flow happening when it gets too hot in clubs.
To finish the look up I team it with my favourite shoes. These Tony Bianco shoes are unbelievably comfortable. I wore these to the Logies in April and they are heaven. Easy to walk in, stylish AND if you have a narrow foot like me, a really great fit.
Finally, I would like to apologise for my pasty skin. Us irish girls just can’t pull off a tan!
Until next time!
