I was so excited to attend Oaks Day on Thursday last week! Ladies day is full of colour and extravagance, and as always it was all about being fashionable.
I arrived early to the course and it was still quiet at Flemington. There were no crowds – just the beautiful flowers and the sun shining down!
I wore a Marcs Layered Dress in flame (red) along with a custom hand made head wear, by my gorgeous sister, Rachel.
I teamed it up with some Jo Mercer shoes (which are to die for) and my horse shoe necklace from Tiffany’s. I thought it seemed appropriate for the occasion! My final touch to my outfit was my lipstick by Shanghai Suzy in Miss Tegan.
I also got a chance to spend some time in the fabulous Marquee’s in the Birdcage this year. I am so thankful that Melbourne and Georgette has become such a great source of fashion news and inspiration for the readers.
G.H Mumm, House of Walker and Emirates Marquees were classy and elegant!
The Birdcage was perfectly laid out and spacious. There were celebrities left right and center and I got a great look at some of the outfits!
Lets take a look at some of my favourites from the birdcage that I spotted!
This off the shoulder crisp white dress looked unbelievably chic on Ash. Matching it with a tangerine Hat, shoes and lipstick finishes the outfit and gives it an graceful edge. I take my hat off to you Ashley Hart, you have dressed elegantly all week.
Wow! I adore this Maticevski outfit Jennifer wore! This beautifully structured design is topped of with the appliqué tie on the side. This outfit is simple yet still completely unique and fashionable.
|Ann Kathrin Brommel|
Ann Kathrin Brommel, girlfriend of German footballer Mario Gotze, was dressed opulently in the Emirates Marquee on Thursday in a Scanlan Theodore dress. Pale pink seemed to be the go to colour at oaks, and it definitely looks great on Ann. Although, I have to say that peplums are very last year.
|Sophie Van Den Akker|
Although I love Sophie’s outfit for races, I feel as though her make-up is the winner here. With a dewy base and minimal eye make-up, Sophie looks completely natural. Her eyebrows are gorgeous! I believe her hair and headpiece fit in with her look perfectly. The slicked back front and then luscious locks brings your focus entirely to her face, and then the headpiece ties in perfectly. Very Grecian!
