Monday’s definitely suck; you wake up after the weekend with regrets and an overwhelming amount of tiredness.
Luckily for me, I had the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival to look forward to! Sorry guys.
Monday night featured two incredible premium runways, and we were lucky enough to be front row for Runway 2 sponsored by Frankie Magazine.
Things kicked off with an awesome live band while everyone filed through the doors to take their seats. Gold streamers sparkled as the runway background. It really set the mood for the alternative designs to come – very Frankie style.
The Runway featured six amazing brands: Kuwaii, Alpha60, Kloke, Bul, Limedrop, and finally, Gorman.
Each one was unique, but most featured neutral flowy shaped designs, giving the pieces a futuristic feel.
Here is a break down of the designers and their pieces shot by our incredible head photographer Angela Pezzimenti –
Bold colour blocking pastels contrasted with bursts of colour and classy loose fitting garments were Kuwaii’s go to for their AW 15 range.
Alex and Georgie Cleary focused on the neutral feminine form of the woman, featuring gorgeous drapery and layers.
Monochrome doesn’t always have to be black and white, and Kloke proved that on the runway with dark AW colours that still manage to catch your eye. Perhaps a little inspiration is drawn from the Amish in these designs?
Off seam stitching, bold colours in winter and some feminine shapes! Whats not to love? Virginia Martin has definitely outdone herself! We are in love! Shout out to the cherry coloured cape and dress. We died.
Colour Colour Colour! So much brightness and we love it. Gorman took it up a notch, bring spring colours and designs a little early!
