Well another year of VAMFF has been and gone. This year we took a backseat for most of the carnival as the whole team was focused on getting the new website up and running. It is safe to say we hit a few speed bumps along the way with the start of university, consultancy work and me moving house.
Regardless, we believe that this years VAMFF was one of the best.
Having gotten used to the segregated feeling of the docklands in previous years, VAMFF took place at the Royal Melbourne Exhibition right in the heart of the city. I truly believe this new location was welcomed by everyone and really upped the vibe of the whole event.
The first runway we attended was the In Style and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. There were a few designers that stood out.
Camilla took things to the next level. Having seen many of her runways before, I was extremely pleased and surprised to see her designs have developed and grown into something magical. It was a highlight of the night.
Akira played around with contrasting and delicate materials. The beautiful colours made it feel like we were heading into spring, not the dreaded cold. I am a big believer in vibrance during winter.
By now you should know my favourite designer! By Johnny once again blew me away. He had some really beautiful and feminine cuts. The frills for him are a new technique, but sure to contrast his other seasons.
Aurelio Costarella is another designer I adore and I loved how he has brought feathers back into the equation this year. The runway featured exquisite silhouettes combined with texture.
Attending this runway this year, I wanted to keep things low-key outfit wise. I finally wore something I have worn before! Hallelujah!
To dress things up I had the chance to wear some incredible pieces by Natalie Barney Jewellery.
I was given some rare diamonds and topaz to wear for the evening and they complemented my outfit beautifully!
Until next year VAMFF – we love you!
