What a start to my favourite time of year! This year Derby Day began with a shocking bang when my alarm didn’t go off (Set to weekday settings – get on it peeps) and I lost vital getting ready time. Any girl who has to get up at the crack of dawn for curlers and lots of hairspray would definitely understand my predicament.
However, I managed to get ready quite quickly and get myself to Marks & Spencer’s Derby Day Breakfast. Working for a great company like Shopping Links means I get to help plan these special events and it was a fantastic way to start the day. Our team was surrounded by bloggers and influencers and we all enjoyed the sunshine at Entrecôte South Yarra along with some delicious champagne and intricate french canapés.
Katie Fergus was there to capture the outfits for the influencers and I was lucky enough to get her to shoot me during one of the quiet moments.
Dress and Shoes: Marks & Spencer
Headpiece: MJ Hand Made Millinery
This year I wanted to go a little more sophisticated and modest. This Marks & Spencer Black Bodycon Lace Dress is only $81.00 AUD – a great statement piece to have that I feel as if I could wear to multiple formal and work events. I also teamed it up with the most comfortable chic black shoes from Marks & Spencer too. These Block Heel Buckle Court shoes are not only stylish, but contain Insole® – a design that redistributes your weight away from the balls of your feet, reducing pressure and increasing ankle stability, allowing you to wear your heels comfortably all day long. So, basically the perfect fit for the Racing Season.
By the time the event was finished, I was quite tired but refused to not attend races. I bumped out the gorgeous event decor and headed to the track. The weather was perfect and the crowds had gathered. A huge thank you to Lavazza Marquee for having me on Saturday – It was the perfect way to end the perfect day and what a beautiful space!
